A follow-up on a situation that initially had me quite concerned and confused about the powers of a court to order a juror to sign consent to Facebook to turn over his postings to the court.

California’s 3rd District Court of Appeal has refused to block an order to make a juror turn over his Facebook postings in a Sacramento gang beating trial, according to a lawyer in the case.
Attorney Kenneth L. Rosenfeld, who is representing juror Arturo Ramirez, said Thursday that he has taken the matter to the California Supreme Court “to protect my client’s right to privacy.”
Rosenfeld said he has requested a stay order from the state’s highest court.
