California lawmakers are cracking down on paparazzi. A new bill would further restrict the tactics of photographers while celebrities are engaged in personal activities — like being with their family.
Jennifer Aniston’s activism led to a California law already on the books that restricts paparazzi behaviors and the extremes they go through to get that one valuable picture.
The state Assembly approved a measure that adds surveillance of a celebrity at their home or workplace and false imprisonment to the current list of restricted behaviors subject to a $50,000 civil fine. It also prevents loitering outside the school of a celebrity’s child.
