A judge has ruled the Minnesota Department of Human Rights violated the privacy of an Anoka-Hennepin school district teacher accused of making comments about a student’s perceived homosexuality by releasing the instructor’s name.
Ramsey County District Judge Dale Lindman ruled late last week in favor of the teacher, Diane Cleveland, on two counts: that the agency violated the Minnesota Human Rights Act, and the state Data Practices Act.
Three other counts — negligence, breach of settlement agreement and release of claims and invasion of privacy — were dismissed.
