Kelly Sinoski reports:
A border guard allegedly used the threat of detention or a criminal record to force four young women to “illegal, humiliating strip searches,” in which he touched some of their breasts and private parts, a B.C. Supreme Court jury in New Westminster heard Monday.
Crown counsel Christina Godlewska said Daniel Greenhalgh was on duty at the Douglas Border Crossing in South Surrey when the incidents occurred between April 12 and May 26, 2007 at different locations around the border, including a public washroom in a park and a construction zone.
He is being tried before eight men and four women on three counts of sexual assault and one count of breach of trust of public office.
