Privacy advocates on Capitol Hill — including Rep. Rick Boucher (D-Va.) and Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) — have told POLITICO a final vote on the matter this year is unlikely. But the flurry of lobbying on the online privacy front still owes its origins to an in-kind uptick in interest in the issue on Capitol Hill.
