Legislation covering the Security Intelligence Service (SIS) will be updated to allow for electronic tracking and computer surveillance in time for the Rugby World Cup next year.
The original New Zealand Security Intelligence Service Act is more than 40 years old and long overdue for an update, Prime Minister John Key said.
The amendments will cover the warrants framework, specifically in regards to modern technologies.
