Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller told Congress on Friday to make sure a proposed loosening of federal rules to allow some automated business calls to cellphones doesn’t override tougher state telemarketing laws like Indiana’s.
Otherwise, Zoeller said, Hoosiers will get the average of 12 calls a week received by families in states with looser laws.
Zoeller, a Republican, spoke before a congressional panel examining a proposed change to a 1991 law that protects people from intrusive telemarketing.
