A report by Victoria’s privacy commissioner has found the foodbowl modernisation project “seriously breached” privacy regulations by failing to inform landholders that it had collected their personal information.
The report found some of the information was “not related to Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewal Project’s (VIRP) functions”.
The report says some of that information was passed to a company that was seeking to purchase land in the area, that was linked to former federal Labor MP Neil O’Keefe.
