A new parents’ group is being formed to oppose many of the Sioux Falls school district’s policies, including its controversial practice of selling student lists to outside groups.
Parents have called schools this week with questions about the issue, but most have decided to keep their students’ information listed after the policy was explained to them, school officials say.
During a 12-month period last year, 23 organizations and businesses purchased lists which included students’ names, grade levels, phone numbers, home addresses and names of their parents.
