Busting Eight Common Excuses for NSA Mass Surveillance

Over on EFF, Cindy Cohn and Trevor Timm provide some ways to answer the questions we’ve all been hearing from family and friends who just don’t seem to “get” how problematic government surveillance is.  Have you ever heard:

I have nothing to hide from the government, so why should I worry?
Isn’t the NSA using the mass spying to stop terrorists?
 The government will not abuse its power.

And other frustratingly naive responses?
