Nam Hyun-woo reports:
The prosecution said Saturday it has secured circumstantial evidence that a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent has been involved in leaks of personal information about former Prosecutor General Chae Dong-wook’s alleged illegitimate son.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office said that it summoned Yoo Young-hwan, 60, superintendent of the Seoul Gangnam District Office of Education Support, in December to question him over why he leaked personal information about the child who was attending an elementary school near the district.
During the investigation, Yoo was grilled whether the spy agent, whose identity was withheld, asked him to look up the alleged son’s information and hand it over.
