Google Inc. asked a French court Thursday to suspend an order forcing it to notify users of a privacy fine on its French home page, the latest twist in the company’s multiple tussles with European authorities.
In an emergency hearing before the Conseil d’Etat, France’s highest administrative court, a lawyer for Google argued that posting a notice of the €150,000 ($204,000) fine handed down last month would cause irreparable damage to Google’s reputation, in particular while it is in the process of appealing the overall decision.
