Posted on September 24, 2009 by pogowasright.org

Robb Murray reports:

The University of Minnesota Duluth student charged with extortion in his attempt to get nude photos of a Minnesota State University student has been sentenced to five years of probation and banned from using social networking Internet sites.

Anthony Phillip Dzik, 24, pleaded guilty to identity theft and harassment in St. Louis County District Court in Duluth and was sentenced in early September.

In addition to his probation, he was ordered to pay court costs and must undergo a psychological evaluation. Should that evaluation make any treatment recommendations, Dzik must agree and complete the treatment. He also must give authorities a sample of his DNA.

Dzik had been facing six charges ranging from felony to misdemeanor. Authorities allege he hacked into the woman’s computer and was able to steal her passwords to social networking sites.
