Yonhap News reports:
The number of police searches and seizures into telecommuication services, such as popular mobile messenger service Kakao Talk, has surged under the Park Geun-hye administration, a report showed Monday.
A total of 1,099 search and seizure warrants were executed by police officers to confiscate Kakao Talk chats, emails and other messages in 2013, a 49 percent increase from 681 a year earlier, the report showed. Also, 1,240 of such warrants were issued until August of this year, the report added.
