A Boise representative has called for a legislative task force that would study student data collection in an effort to protect student privacy.
Rep. Lynn Luker, R-Boise, introduced the bill to the House Education Committee on Wednesday. He said the Legislature took “a step forward” in 2014 by passing Senate Bill 1372, which established some provisions surrounding student data accessibility and accountability, but Luker said there is still “considerable concern that bill did not go far enough.”
