A 2014 state law that makes it a crime for jilted lovers to post nude photos of their former partners online will be permanently blocked from enforcement under an agreement between the ACLU and Attorney General Mark Brnovich.
Legal documents filed in U.S. District Court Thursday include a proposed order that will prevent prosecutors from ever enforcing the law. U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton must still sign off on the deal.

If you’re confused as to why the ACLU would oppose a revenge porn law, well, just think First Amendment. In this case, the ACLU challenged the 2014 law because it was overly broad and could have resulted in the prosecution of lots of people who weren’t engaging in revenge porn.
