The FDNY has censured one of its top-ranked chiefs with a 50-day pay loss — a penalty for his role in a long-running leaking scandal that set the department on edge.
FDNY Deputy Chief Paul Mannix, a 27-year veteran on the force, agreed to accept the penalty, according to a department order released Thursday and obtained by the Daily News.

The FDNY in recent years had combated a spate of leaks from within its ranks that resulted in negative news stories about the department’s diversity hiring.
Personnel and medical details of specific firefighter candidates, most of them women and minorities trying to join the FDNY, were revealed — in some cases a violation of medical privacy laws.
