UK: Nuisance Call Blocker Ltd prosecuted by ICO

Posted on October 9, 2015 by pogowasright.org

From the ICO:

Nuisance Call Blocker Ltd, a cold calling prevention team, has been prosecuted for failing to respond to an information notice. The Bournemouth-based company was fined £2,500, ordered to pay a £120 victim surcharge and £429.85 prosecution costs.

If you search this blog for “nuisance,” you’ll find that the U.K. has been much more active over the past five years than the U.S. in fining companies for cold-calling or violating any do not call settings.  I’d love to see states or the federal government here just start handing out fines for such things.
