Australian spies have shared intelligence with foreign officials at least seven times without complying with privacy laws and in breach of government policies.
A report from the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security, who oversees the country’s seven intelligence agencies, also found that Australia’s foreign spy agency “co-operated” with overseas officials without obtaining the necessary approval from the Foreign Minister to do so.
