A proposal to change Pennsylvania’s wiretap law to permit officers to use body cameras to record inside homes under certain circumstances cleared a Senate committee Tuesday.
The legislation would permit law enforcement officers to record inside residences during an arrest or the execution of a search warrant, during an emergency or after receiving permission. The bill also is intended to exempt police recordings in a home or police interrogation room from the state right-to-know law.
