Nashville schools officials have scheduled a meeting with two women about a possible student privacy rights violation tied to an alleged testing scandal.
Almost identical letters were sent to Metro Nashville Public Schools employees Shana West and Kelly Brown on Dec. 30 requesting separate meetings on Wednesday because of what the district called an “apparent violation” of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act.
“It appears that you have accessed personal student information that you had no educational right to access and that you released that information to others inside and outside of the school district,” say the letters signed by Fred Carr, chief operating officer.
