State Attorney General Jim Hood is calling a bill passed out of a House committee Tuesday to give the state auditor authority to request wiretaps a “brazen political stunt.”
The House Judiciary A Committee passed House Bill 944, which would grant the state auditor unprecedented authority to request wiretaps, investigate certain cases, hire outside counsel and impanel grand juries, Hood said.
