Becky Metrick reports:
Four Franklin County residents who have been suing the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department for the last year and a half will have a small part of their lawsuit heard by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, after a lower court dismissed several counts earlier this year.
The four, referred to only as John and Jane Doe in court documents, allege that the sheriff’s department invaded their privacy by using postcards to deliver notices about the status of their conceal carry permits. They claim that because the subject of the card was not hidden by an envelope, their confidential request for the permit was exposed to public view.
