Confirmed: TikTok Is Being Investigated Over Children’s Data (Again

It has been something of a rollercoaster ride for video-sharing app TikTok so far this year, with a U.S. fine and an outright ban (for a time) in India. All of this has come about because of alleged misuse of information from children and, worse, actual child endangerment.

Now, the Guardian has reported that the U.K.’s information commissioner Elizabeth Denham has told a parliamentary committee that “we are looking at the transparency tools for children. We’re looking at the messaging system, which is completely open, we’re looking at the kind of videos that are collected and shared by children online.”
