WJAC reports that Mount Nittany Health is agreeing to pay $1.8 million in a proposed settlement in a lawsuit over the use of tracking software. As part of the lawsuit, the plaintiffs claimed that Mount Nittany Health never notified patients of the data sharing, even after other entities began notifying patients of the tracking pixels issue.
Mount Nittany Health denies any wrongdoing.
According to StateCollege.com, the settlement agreement filed on Monday in Centre County Court still must be approved by Judge Brian Marshall. If approved, an estimated 74,000 Pennsylvania residents who accessed Mount Nittany Health’s websites and patient portal since 2007 could be eligible for a share of the settlement fund.
