Little Britain star Matt Lucas sues the Daily Star over ex’s death stories

Little Britain star Matt Lucas is suing the Daily Star over stories regarding the death of his ex partner.

Lucas will use the ‘Max Mosely’ defence in the High Court action – that the Richard Desmond owned publication misused private information.

Legal action was taken against Express Newspapers after two stories published last October in the Daily Star following the death Kevin McGee, his former civil partner.

Law firm Shillings is taking up the case under as an apparent breach under the Data Protection Act, suggesting the paper did not comply with data protection principles as required by the Act.
