A police officer could be sacked after using his work system to track down the man his girlfriend was having an affair with.
Nicholas Hallam was suspended from his job with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in December, and has been warned there is a good chance he may not be allowed to return to work.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard earlier this week that the 44-year-old had returned home to find his girlfriend moving out of their home at Pitcaple. She later returned to pick up her belongings in a new car – prompting Hallam to run the vehicle’s registration through Grampian Police’s data controller system.
