Posted on September 15, 2010 by pogowasright.org

James Bovard writes:

President Obama has failed to make any appointments to the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. This board epitomizes the charades Washington has played since Sept, 11, 2001. Instead of stocking the board with the usual suspects, it would be far better to abolish it.

In the alternative, how about nominating people who really give a damn about civil liberties and privacy and are willing to stand up for them? Think of a board with someone from EFF, someone from the ACLU, a Libertarian like Bob Barr….
