The identities of men who donated sperm anonymously in the 1970s and ’80s will soon be available to their offspring under a controversial shake-up of Victoria’s reproductive treatment laws.
In a move some donors have described as “staggering”, the Andrews government will introduce legislation this week that aims to give all donor-conceived people equal access to information about their biological parent, such as their name, date of birth or ethnic background.
