AU: New guidelines for handling public sector data

PS News reports:

The new Commissioner for Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP), David Watts has released guidelines to help Victorian public sector staff understand the new legal regime for data collection and privacy.

The Guidelines to Public Interest Determinations, Temporary Public Interest Determinations, Information Usage Arrangements and Certification support the new privacy related provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (PDPA).

The Information Privacy Principles regulate how public sector Agencies manage the personal information they collect from Victorians.
