Lawyer Paul Fraser has been appointed as acting Information and Privacy Commissioner to plug both the job and the controversy that erupted after the position was left vacant for three working days.
Premier Gordon Campbell said the public should see Fraser as “an appropriate and sensible appointment,” and that an all-party committee to select a permanent replacement will be appointed after the legislature resumes Feb. 9.
Fraser is B.C.’s current Conflict of Interest Commissioner.
