Bahamas man charged with hacking celebrities’ e-mail accounts, stealing scripts, sex videos, and more…

Posted on December 22, 2015 by pogowasright.org

A criminal complaint has been filed  in New York against Alonzo Knowles.

Knowles is charged in conjunction with a scheme to sell stolen scripts of upcoming movies and television shows, and the personal identification information and private, sexually explicit videos of celebrities and other professionals in the entertainment, professional sports, and media industries.  Knowles allegedly obtained the stolen materials and videos by hacking the victims’ e-mail accounts.

Knowles’ arrest yesterday was announced by Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.

Given how serious the complaint sounds, it seems somewhat lame to report that Knowles, 23, of Freeport, Bahamas, is (only) charged with one count of criminal copyright infringement and one count of identity theft.
