Blogger in Anna Nicole Smith case released from custody

Posted on August 26, 2009 by pogowasright.org

A North Texas blogger sued by Anna Nicole-Smith’s mother was released from Harris County custody on Tuesday after she turned over her computer hard drive to the courts.

Teresa Stephens had been in custody since Thursday for refusing to comply with state District Judge Tony Lindsay’s order to turn over her computer and files. Stephens is accused in civil court of defaming Virgie Arthur, the mother of the Playboy model who died of a drug overdose in 2007.

Lindsay found Stephens, of North Richland Hills, in contempt of court for failing to respond to a May order that she turn over her computer to a court-appointed forensic expert. The computer had been stored in a safe deposit box.
