Ca: Police not notifying students of privacy breach

Ashley Fitzpatrick reports:

An unknown number of Holy Heart of Mary High School students became part of police tactics in 2012, leading to an investigation and criminal trial in 2014, but the students have never been told one word about it.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) used the students to legitimize fake Facebook and Hotmail profiles created by police, in an effort to catch child lurers. Police posed as students, “friending” real students from the high school in St. John’s.

The RNC has since killed the accounts in question.
