Police are investigating a complaint that a school official may have violated a federal law by showing student records — the records of a Board of Education member’s child — to another Board of Education member who is not related to the student in question, police and school officials said.
“We are conducting an investigation, but right now it’s just in the infancy stages,” said acting Chief of Police Gaetano Nappi. “There was a complaint made about the possibility of the tampering with student records. That has not been established. We are looking into it in conjunction with the superintendent’s office.”
