On January 20, 2010 the Center for Science, Technology and Society of Santa Clara University presents “Privacy Protections for Patient-Empowered Care,” a panel discussion about the privacy implications and policy considerations raised by personal health records, featuring Dr. Paul Tang, MD, a member of the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics, Subcommittee on Privacy, Confidentiality & Security (NCVHS), and Deven McGraw, Director of the Health Privacy Project at the Center for Democracy and Technology. The event, which will be held in the St. Clare Room from 4:30 to 6:00 pm, is cosponsored by Santa Clara’s Hi Tech Law Institute and the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics.
