Directory information battle continues between school district, guardians

Lyon County School District will continue to release “directory information” about students to groups and agencies that request it unless parents specifically choose to opt out.

After an hour of discussion with no resolution on how to address a guardian’s concern that his grandchildren’s information was being released to various groups, the board agreed to bring the matter back at its February meeting. Each board member is expected to bring an action plan to that meeting to address the issue.
