FTC Releases Agenda for Workshop on Informational Injury

Nov. 28 – The Federal Trade Commission released the final agenda for its December 12, 2017 workshop examining questions about the injuries consumers suffer when information about them is misused.

Acting FTC Chairman Maureen K. Ohlhausen will provide opening remarks at the workshop. The event will include panel discussions focused on the types of negative outcomes that can arise from data security and privacy incidents, the potential factors in assessing informational injury, and the methods and challenges in measuring informational injury. The workshop will also include a discussion of how businesses and consumers evaluate the benefits, costs, and risks of information collection and sharing.

The workshop, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 9:15 a.m.-5 p.m. ET at the Constitution Center, 400 7th St., SW, Washington, DC. Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. ET. It will be webcast live on the FTC’s website. Additional information about the workshop can be found on the event page.
