House allows DADT to go forward

Posted on May 29, 2010 by pogowasright.org

In an essentially partisan vote, the House of Representatives voted to allow the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” to go forward, although there’s still a long way to go until (or if) the law is repealed. The vote in the House was 234-194, with 5 Republicans voting for the amendment and 26 Democrats voting against it. The New York Times provides coverage of the vote, as do thousands of news sites and blogs.
