IA: Supermarket camera suspect charged with privacy violation

Tom Alex reports:

The person who allegedly installed a camera in a women’s restroom at the Dahl’s Food Store at 3400 E. 33rd St., has been charged with invasion of privacy.

Police identified the suspect this morning as Michael Dean Safris, 44, of Newton. He was an employee of Dahl’s at the time of his arrest.

The charge is a serious misdemeanor. Maximum penalty is a fine of $315 to $1,875 and up to a year incarceration.
