Junk Fax Case Settles for $449M Less Than 2010 Verdict

Posted on February 1, 2015 by pogowasright.org

Alyson Palmer reports:

A class action over so-called junk faxes that at one point produced a $459 million verdict has settled for $10 million in cash—with additional money and litigation possible.

An insurance company for the now-defunct defendant, an Alpharetta home improvement company that sent thousands of unwanted fax messages, will contribute the settlement funds. The lawyers for the class are set to receive $5 million, with $1 million going to the lawyers for the defendant, American Home Services (AHS).

Read more on Daily Report.  The case is A Fast Sign Co. v. American Home Services, No. 2003-CV-77276.
