I haven’t had time to properly write anything up, but since last night, I have been reading the alternately frustrated and infuriated tweets from Australians trying to opt out of #MyHealthRecord. The opt-out period opened yesterday, and it appears to be a cock-up of immense proportions, with many people unable to opt out online, then having to wait on hold on the phone for more than 1.5 hours, while yet others who are also trying to opt their children out of the system are being told that either they have no children (which is news to them!) or their children cannot be opted out of the system because ….. reasons (that I need to better understand).
So expect some news coverage of this topic on this blog when I get a better sense of what’s happening there.
