A Missouri-based Planned Parenthood clinic must turn over any records it has involving gender-affirming care for minors to the state’s attorney general, a Missouri appeals court ruled.
Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri must comply with state Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s 2023 civil investigative demand, Judge Rebeca Navarro-McKelvey said in an opinion Tuesday. The Missouri Court of Appeals ruled the demand is within the scope of a broad state law designed to protect consumers from deception and doesn’t flout the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
