The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the FBI and the Justice Department over their failure to promptly release details of how racial, ethnic and cultural data is collected and used to conduct criminal or terrorist assessments and investigations in New Jersey.
The ACLU’s New Jersey chapter filed a Freedom of Information Act request last July seeking records concerning the FBI’s use of race and ethnicity data to map local communities under the Domestic Intelligence Operations Guide.
