NL: KPN, XS4ALL made to change collection of TV viewing data

Posted on August 12, 2016 by pogowasright.org

Telecompaper reports:

KPN and its unit XS4ALL have changed the terms and conditions for their IPTV services, following an investigation by the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP). The AP found that XS4ALL and KPN were in violation of the law on personal data protection, as they did not provide sufficient information to their TV customers about the collection and processing of personal data about their TV viewing behaviour.

XS4ALL and KPN have consequently modified their systems and the information in their privacy statements.
