NPPA Calls For California Governor Brown To Veto Drone Bill

Posted on September 5, 2015 by pogowasright.org

Dave MacDonald reports:

The National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) wants California Governor Jerry Brown to veto a bill that would restrict the use of drones over private property.

Last month the California Senate voted 40-0 to approve AB856 by Assemblyman Ian Calderon, classifying drone use to take pictures or video on private property as an invasion of privacy.

The bill would open up news organizations to lawsuits for flying over private property without permission.
