Nyack is considering a policy that would make it the first district in the Lower Hudson Valley to require students to submit to an alcohol breath test if administrators suspect they have come to school drunk.
The Nyack Board of Education has been discussing the proposal for months and weighing community support — and objections — to the breathalyzer plan.

The item is on the agenda for tomorrow night’s board meeting. In the tradition of guilty until proven innocent, if students refuse to take the breathalyzer, they are subject to discipline.
