Some very big eyes from Washington and Harrisburg have focused their attention on the Weatherly Area School District and its attempt to write its own student privacy policy.
The district’s action was in response to May 13 “suggestions” from the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Department of Education on how to treat transgender students, specifically in terms of bathroom use.
However, the district found itself in some disagreement with what the federal government was “suggesting.” Not going along with these suggestions now appears to carry a hefty price tag.
