Some pointed commentary by Tim Denis:
As you’ve no doubt heard, exotic dancers — i.e. strippers — in our quaint little corner of the world may become the first in the country to be required to be fingerprinted for their jobs, if the NRP (i.e. the police) have their way.
We all make the assumption that this is a way to ensure dancers employed here are of legal age, because underage dancing has been an issue over the years. Girls as young as 16 have been found working under assumed names.
Not so, say the police. This is to protect the girls themselves from identity theft. This fingerprinting would not be just for dancers, but for all current regionally licenced professions, including strip club owners, tow truck drivers, limousine and shuttle bus drivers, cab drivers and those who own wrecking yards.
Heaven knows there is a major problem in Canada with underage wrecking yard owners and shuttle bus drivers who aren’t whom they purport to be.
Obviously, this is aimed at the strippers and the club owners as police fight their never-ending fight to rid Niagara of sin.
