Gary Dickson’s call this week for a change to the province’s privacy laws to eliminate a gap around SGI’s handling of health information is just the latest plea from the province’s information and privacy commissioner for an overhaul of what he says is out-of-date legislation.
But with only the spring sitting of the legislature left before the next provincial election, it appears the argument he has made since 2004 that privacy laws need to be amended will continue to be ignored for at least another year.
